Isolation tank
Friday, 02 July 2010 13:48

"An isolation tank is a lightless, soundproof tank inside which subjects float in salt water at skin temperature. They were first used by John C. Lilly in 1954 in order to test the effects of sensory deprivation. Such tanks are now also used for meditation and relaxation and in alternative medicine. Isolation tanks were originally called sensory deprivation tanks. Other synonyms for isolation tank include float tank, floating tank, floater tank, flotation tank, REST tank, flotation baths, John C. Lilly tank and sensory attenuation tank." / wikipedia

I have created a new design of this tank as my qualification work as designer. My aim was to advertise the idea of this kind of relaxation which has not been realised in Latvia yet and make a small business if possible. However this project is frozen because of high initial cost.

Textures can bring great vivacy to your digital works if used propertly.
Here are some new scanned textures which I made during my course. I might consider creating custom photoshop brushes from this and more early material.

Portfolio
Friday, 23 January 2009 15:48
pieb_portfolioI created my portfolio as a reference point what has been done and to think about direction where to push myself further. As usual I used Joomla as the site engine. Actually Joomla isn`t the perfect thing for portfolios, but still it`s flexibility is quite remarkable.
Why Joomla? At the time it seemed to be most user friendly and template-able and it had a lot of extensions. 1.0.x version had its drawbacks but since 1.5 I`m not thinking about switcing to another cms.
